A true retreat in Nairobi. The staff make you feel very special. For example, the staff offered to make us a full breakfast for our 4 AM departure. We politely declined, but the willingness to go out of their way is the hallmark of this property. The public areas are large and well decorated. The rooms in the main building reflect the fact the hotel used to be a home. The Maasai staff makes this hotel one of a kind. Highly recommended.

We arrived quite late in the evening – the staff has prepared a light meal for us and made sure we were checked in and settled in their lounge in no time. We weren’t expecting such a warm welcome, and we really enjoyed sitting in front of the fire in their lounge, looking through the impressive collection of books on Africa and Kenya, and listening to the wildlife outside. We had the master bedroom – very spacious and well appointed. At breakfast next day we were able to see what a beautiful property this is, as well as enjoy a lovely breakfast. Eden has already found its way onto several “hot” lists and sometimes super-cool places can lack warmth. Not this place, we would definitely return, explore the neighborhood more and spend some quality time here with a good book, or at their bar!

The most peaceful slice of paradise in Nairobi. After a short while here, I almost forgot where I was. So much peace and serenity, beauty, art and creativity. Can’t wait to come back again. Make sure to go and see the giraffes and Giraffe Centre, a truly unique experience.
